Year-end catch-up for small business books

Your books, caught up and clean before year-end

Bookkeeping for trades, retail, service and cleaning businesses, done personally by the owner. Every transaction categorized and every account reconciled, so you can see what the business actually earned.

The problem

Behind on the books means flying blind

Most owners do not fall behind on purpose. Receipts pile up, the bank feed goes uncategorized, and a quarter goes by with nothing reconciled.

Then year-end arrives and you are estimating what the business earned. That makes it hard to price jobs with confidence, hard to tell whether a slow month is a trend, and hard to give a lender a straight number.

What you get

A clean, current set of books

How it works

Three steps from behind to caught up

1. Book a call

[Call length] minutes. We look at your accounts, how far back the catch-up goes, and whether it is a good fit.

2. Connect your accounts

[Describe the access you grant and how it is secured, for example read-only bank and card feeds.]

3. Get caught up

I categorize, reconcile and clean up your books, then send a clear summary of where things stand. [Typical timeline.]

Who this is for, and who it is not for

This is for you if

  • You run a trade, contracting or field service business
  • You run a retail or e-commerce shop
  • You run a cleaning company or another service business
  • You are a real estate agent or run a small brokerage
  • Your books are [how far] behind and you want them current before year-end

This is not for you if

  • You want someone else to make the business decisions. I keep the records; the decisions stay with you.
  • You will not share read-only access to your bank and card accounts
  • You need a full-time in-house bookkeeper rather than an owner-run service

Working with businesses across [states, regions or country]. Everything is handled remotely.

Why work with me

The owner does your books, on purpose

I do your books myself. That is a deliberate choice, not a limit. You work directly with the person accountable for your numbers, you can ask a question and get a straight answer, and your files never pass through a rotating team.

My background is reading the books of small businesses. I spent [X years] in M&A buy-side work, reviewing owner-run companies before deciding whether to buy them. That is where I learned what a clean set of books is worth.

Clean books do three things for an owner:

Pricing

Starting at [$X]/mo

[What the starting price includes, and what changes it, for example the number of accounts and how far back the catch-up goes.]

Year-end catch-up offer

[Describe the offer window, what it includes and any limits. Delete this box if the offer has ended.]

Questions owners ask

How far behind can my books be?

[The range you handle, for example up to 24 months.] Tell me during the call and I will say honestly whether I can get you caught up in time.

What software do you work in?

[Name the accounting software you use, for example QuickBooks Online or Xero, and whether you can work in a file you already have.]

Do you work outside my area?

Yes. Everything is remote. [Confirm the states, regions or countries you cover.]

What do you need from me?

Read-only access to your bank and card accounts, plus [the documents you need, for example receipts for large purchases or loan statements].

Do you do anything beyond bookkeeping?

No. The scope is bookkeeping: categorization, reconciliation and catching up prior periods. This offer covers that and nothing else.

What happens after the catch-up?

[Describe the ongoing options, for example a monthly plan at the starting price, or a one-time catch-up with no commitment.]
